Assisted Hatching

Assisted hatching is a technique by which a tiny slit is made in the zona pellucida (translucent outer layer) of the embryo by laser to facilitate the release of the developing embryo and its subsequent implantation after transfer into the uterus.

lndications:

• Women age ≥38
• Embryos with thickened, irregular or very dark zona pellucida
• Embryos showing delayed development or poor quality
